The dial is meticulously engraved by hand, freezing the moment of a galloping steed in rhythmic guilloché patterns. Crafted in integrated 904L aerospace-grade steel, the case and bracelet combine brushed, polished, and matte finishes to sculpt refined light across bold lines.
The creation of a Guilloché dial is a true testament to artistry and precision. On a delicate 30.4mm disc, artisans execute over 3,000 flawlessly aligned cuts, each with uniform depth and direction, achieving precision within 0.1mm. Even the smallest error or momentary lapse in concentration necessitates starting anew, underscoring the immense skill and patience required for this craft. This is why Guilloché graces only the most exceptional timepieces.
This dial represents one of Peacock’s most demanding hand-guilloché achievements. It is composed of 16 independent guilloché zones, each engraved with a distinct texture. Artisans must execute four directional patterns, including diagonal cuts at 12°, 32°, 40°, and 66°, while alternating between 0.4 mm and 0.5 mm cutting tools.
Across the 28.8 mm dial, approximately 250 engraved lines intersect at 527 precisely calculated “knife-avoidance” junctions, where lines must meet without crossing. More than 2,000 individual hand-driven cuts are required, resulting in a dial where no two sections are ever identical—each one a singular expression of patience, control, and mastery.
